About Sarah

From Russian to sales

It was a long road to become a homeopath. But a road well worth travelling. I started out with a degree in Russian, of all things. However, I was a little stumped as to what to do with it: when I graduated the Berlin Wall was still standing. That meant no possibility of commercial jobs using Russian. So I went into international sales, using my French and Italian instead.

From sales to psychology to innovation

Seven years later, with a lot more confidence, but feeling very unfulfilled, I left my job to do a Graduate Diploma in Psychology. I did not know where it would lead, but trusted that it was the right thing to do. And it was. I then spent a very happy and fulfilled 14 years as a consultant, trainer and coach to big corporates in the arena of innovation and creativity. I loved this career, as the work was so varied and interesting - from helping to invent new products, and training executives to think creatively, to facilitating teams in conflict to resolve their differences. It involved a lot of travel, and I was known by my colleagues for always travelling with my portable homeopathy kit. So even back then, my passion for homeopathy was evident. The job also required me to train as a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), that I now use to coach clients.

From Motherhood to menopause via homeopathy

However, with the advent of Motherhood at 41 and trying to flexi-work (unsuccessfully), by the time I was 46, peri-menopausal hormones meant I could no longer handle the stress like I used to.  I knew it was time to change again, and ended up making a passion into a career - namely homeopathy. Three years later, with a Bachelor of Science with first class Honours in Homeopathy under my belt, I set up as The Coaching Homeopath in 2012.

As for when I'm not being a Mum or a homeopath, I love to sing, and am part of a group called "The Singing Hearts", and I attend an art group called Visual Medicine. I also really enjoy dancing salsa, but only ever seem to get the opportunity at parties and weddings.

I keep wondering when I'm going to get bored with homeopathy, when it will become just a way to earn money. But so far, my passion for it only seems to be growing. And I am still in awe of what it can do.
